Tina Keng Gallery New Vision - Beyond Generations Instrumental in promoting the work of Asian masters such as Zao Wou-Ki, Lin Fengmian and Sanyu, Tina Keng Gallery supports visionary Asian artists and continues to build bridges with international institutions, collections and connoisseurs of Asian Art. TKG+, as the contemporary platform of Tina Keng Gallery, is devoted to the promotion and support of the most interesting and significant contemporary art from the region, working with emerging artists and privileging experimentation in art across different media, from video and photography to installation and new media. In the current installment of Art Taipei, Tina Keng Gallery will feature the works of Yang Mao-Lin, Lin Ju, Hsu Yunghsu, and Yao Jui-chung. Following his solo exhibition in July, Yang Mao-Lin will exhibit the work “Alice Bodhisattva Rides on Hummingbird.” Known for his surrealistic style, Lin Ju will present a new work in his series of Observing Forest. Hsu Yunghsu delicately rubs, presses, and molds the forms with his two hands, which combine to become large, monumental and tactile sculptures. Yao Jui-chung, inscribes ink on paper, combined with gold-leaf, brings forth a sense of splendor to traditional shan-shui. TKG+ will launch the work of Yuan Goang-Ming, Charwei Tsai, Wu Chi-Tsung, and Su Yu-Hsien. Yuang Goang Ming contemplates the relationship between video and motion, and in doing so, questions perception. Charwei Tsai reflects on spirituality and temporality, through a meditation on the seminal Buddhist text Heart Sutra, by delicately inscribing the words onto material surfaces. Borrowing the terminology and history of photography and an old Russian spy camera, Wu Chi-Tsung stimulates a calm distant seascape against an act of violence. Su Yu-Hsien, who has recently exhibited at the Venice Biennale, will present the installation “Heaven,” composed of a large black balloon in the contemplation of weight, gravity, and floatation, in offering an alternative observation of “Death.”
